GSC closes down cinemas at Cheras Leisure Mall and Berjaya Times Square for good

Last year, MBO had announced the closure of all cinemas due to a declining financial state amid the pandemic. Now, GSC is also closing down cinemas but it's less serious. Instead of closing down all the cinemas, the company will cease operations of only the ones located at Cheras Leisure Mall and Berjaya Times Square.

According to GSC's official Facebook page, the company is shutting down the cinemas from the mentioned locations for good. From a sentimental post, it is mentioned that the GSC Cheras Leisure Mall has lasted for 25 years, five more years to three decades (sad~). Meanwhile, GSC Berjaya Times Square has also lasted for 15 years long. Furthermore, GSC has expressed their gratitude for the customers' years of support as well.

It is sad to see cinemas that most of us have had memories with will not open again once everything gets better. However, let's continue to hope for days when we'll be free from masks and go to cinemas like we used to do to support the film industry!
