GSC confirms SOPs for moviegoers during RMCO

Those who like to frequent cinemas got to hear the best news earlier this week when our government announced that cinemas would be allowed to operate again. Beginning 1 July, cinemas in Malaysia will reopen with a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place. The SOPs were confirmed by GSC in a series of Twitter posts earlier today.

First, there's now an age restriction. Specifically, those who are under 13-years-old and more than 60-years-old will not be allowed to enter the cinema halls. You'll also have to scan a QR code or fill in a logbook (with your measured body temperature) so that the authorities can trace moviegoers in case a COVID-19 case was detected. Additionally, GSC has advised that everyone should wear masks and maintain 1-metre distance from one another.

Besides the SOPs for the public, GSC will also take steps to ensure the safety of customers. Markers will be installed within the cinemas and gaps in seating will be employed, which should help us maintain social distancing. The company has also promised to sanitise the seats and facilities regularly, as well as provide hand sanitisers. Overall, there isn't anything unusual about this set of SOPs and it's just what we expected.

Hopefully, these measures will be enough for us to stay safe during this time. With that said, are you ready to head back to cinemas for those great movie nights? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
