Today, Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari) via its wholly-owned subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lotus Cars Malaysia (LCM), to explore collaborations in green mobility infrastructure deployment. The MoU was held during the launch of the Lotus Eletre as well.

During the Lotus Eletre event, Gentari was represented by its Chief Green Mobility Officer, Shah Yang Razalli, while Lotus Cars Malaysia – the sole franchise holder of Lotus vehicles in Malaysia, was represented by its General Manager, Tengku Ezan Ley. The MoU will see Gentari partnering with LCM to explore collaborations in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at LCM’s facilities, as well as public areas, including EV charging packages for Lotus EV owners, covering two years.

Besides that, other potential collaborations targeted for exploration include the introduction of Zero Emission Vehicle Fleet solutions in Malaysia, renewable energy deployment at LCM’s facilities and a digital platform with LCM. Razalli said the partnership with Lotus Cars Malaysia is to make it easier for drivers of its high-performance cars to reduce their carbon footprint with every kilometre travelled.

Currently, Gentari, through its affiliated entities, has deployed more than 150 charging points across 35 locations in Malaysia and over 160 charging points in India. In the mid-term, Gentari also aims to install 9,000 public charging points by 2026, with an anchored presence in Malaysia and India.
