The wait has finally over, the GoPro HERO5 Black and the HERO5 Session announced today at Zouk Club, Kuala Lumpur by FunSportz Sdn Bhd - the exclusive importer and distributor of GoPro equipment from the USA.
All the key features and tech specs were exactly like predicted in the rumours post we did earlier. But, in addition to significant gains in performance and convenience, GoPro's all-new HERO5 line of cameras can auto-upload photos and videos to GoPro Plus, a cloud-based subscription service that makes it easy to access, edit and share GoPro content via a phone or computer by using GoPro Plus subscriptions and Quik Apps. The cloud sharing platform will be made available in Malaysia at a later date to be announced by FunSportz.
As for the Malaysia price and release date, both the HERO5 Black and HERO5 Session will be available from 3rd October 2016 onwards for an RRP of RM1849 and RM1399 respectively.
Meanwhile, we do get to see the most anticipated GoPro Karma at the launch, but the CEO of FunSportz said that the Karma would not be coming to Malaysia anytime soon in 2016.
GoPro is also launching several new accessories later this year. Quik key, a key-chain, micro-USB card reader that plugs into your phone to quickly transfer photos and videos from your GoPro. REMO, a voice-activated remoted that extends the voice control range of HERO5 cameras while providing one-button remote control.
