One by one, it feels like our childhood and teen memories are being taken away from us. Previously, we mentioned the gradual decline in PS4 sales and production. Today, the organiser for the E3 convention announced the end of the iconic event after 20 years.

For your information, the word E3 is derived from Electronic Entertainment Exp. This event started back in 1995 and it was once regarded as a “must see” annual event in the gaming industry. Sadly, all things must come to an end, and this is what the organiser says about it:

"E3 has been held for more than 20 years, and each year is grander than the previous one. Now it is time to say goodbye. Thank you for these memories."

In case you didn’t know, E3 conventions was once the most important event in the gaming calendar, and it has launched many important games and hard-core games. However, this changed in 2019 when the pandemic struck. Suspension of physical exhibitions has forced ESA (Entertainment Software Association) to adopt online approach.

Reportedly, ESA tried to revive it multiple times but failed. Now that major manufacturers such as Nintendo, Ubisoft, Microsoft and SONY began to release new games at their own events, the importance of E3 gradually decreased. This saw the decline in importance for this event. As a result, the 2023 event was canceled due to lack of interest from the industry.

There are no further details on this event. At this point, it looks like we have to say goodbye to the E3 convention forever. Thank you for the memories. Gone, but never forgotten.
