
If you’ve ever been lost for words at what to comment on a document by your colleague, then this new feature coming to Google Docs is made just for you. Currently rolling out to users, Google Docs now supports emoji reactions!
Announced via its Google Workspace Updates blog, Google said that the new feature provides users with a less formal alternative to comments when expressing their opinions. Furthermore, Google also confirmed that the feature supports all emojis available in the latest Emoji 14.0 release.

The emoji reactions feature also supports gender-neutral option for gender-modifiable emojis. As for emoji skin tone and gender, it is set based on the preferences saved per individual emoji.
It is believed that this new feature is part of Google reshaping Google Docs into becoming more than just a word processor service, but also a remote working collaboration tool. Previously, we reported how you can now seamlessly draft emails from you Google Docs document.
According to Google, emoji reactions will be on by default and cannot be disabled. Most users can expect the feature to be present in their Google Docs some time after 20 April 2022.
