Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro release - Google Tensor G3, Titan M2 security chip, 12GB RAM, 50MP primary camera and so forth from ~RM3300.33 onwards

The wait is over, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro has officially arrived. Sure, we have yet to confirm if Google Phones are coming to Malaysia. However, the potential of these phones is too significant to ignore.

For your information, the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro feature Google Tensor G3 SoC. It also provides 7 years' worth of OS updates. That includes software upgrades, Feature Drops and security updates.

In addition, the latest entry in the Pixel series is smaller than its predecessor. However, it is still easy to hold and provides a 42% brighter display than the Pixel 7. The phone runs 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also sports a 6.2-inch Actua display with satin metal finishes and a polished glass back. The standard unit comes in 3 colours - Rose, Hazel, and Obsidian.

On the other hand, the Pro variant features a 6.7-inch Super Actua display with an Ultra-HDR images feature. It also runs 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. As we mentioned previously, it sports a matte glass back with a polished aluminium frame. The Pixel 8 Pro comes in 3 colours - Porcelain, Bay, and Obsidian.

Interestingly, the Pro variant also features a new temperature sensor. If everything goes smoothly, you might be able to save your temperature on the Fitbit device. But it does not end there, it houses a 5050mAh battery life and supports 30W wired charging. According to Google, the phone could reach 50% battery level in 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the standard unit features a 4575mAh battery life and supports 27W wired charging. Photography-wise, both variants come with an ultrawide lens that enables Macro Focus. As for the Pixel 8 Pro, you’ll have access to Pro Controls. This allows you to tinker with settings like shutter speed, ISO, 50 MP photos throughout the zoom range and so forth.

But it does not end there, both phones also run the Magic Editor and Audio Magic Eraser to enhance your photography experience. The Pro variant will also receive the Video Boost feature update at the end of this year. It adjusts colour, lighting, stabilization, graininess, and Night Sight video for better low-light video quality.

Interested? You can pre-order them today. The standard unit will cost you $699 (~RM3300.33) while the Pro unit starts at $899 (~RM4242.83). These phones will be available at the Google Store and authorized retail partners. We have no confirmation on the phones’ availability in Malaysia yet. So, you might have to travel to neighbouring countries for it.
