If you're a college student looking for a tablet, you may have heard about the PerantiSiswa initiative. Previously, it was announced that the distributed Android tablets were on a loan basis. However, it seems that is no longer the case.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that students can now keep the device issued via the PerantiSiswa initiative. Currently, 519 students from universities, colleges, and other higher education institutions will receive tablets. The government plans to distribute more than 400k tablets to B40 families.

In case you didn't know, it was confirmed that the tablet distributed is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 LTE. Also, successful applicants will receive a detachable keyboard (Smart Keyboard Trio 500), stylus pen, and black tablet cover (Galaxy Tab A8 Book Cover). As you can see, these accessories will allow students to type documents and draw sketches. Since it's an LTE variant, you can also get a prepaid or postpaid mobile plan for Internet access on the go.

Application for the initiative will be open till 30 September 2022, so sign up soon if you're eligible. Not sure how you can use the tablet for your studies? Refer to our article here! As always, share your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
