A few new features were announced by Grab today, including improvements on food deliveries for sharing costs, discovering food and dining solo with the best affordable cost. But there is another section that the company shared also, which is on travelling.
One of the new functions, Grab for Family | Teens is for teenagers to travel independently while giving parents and guardians updated monitoring information. As long as the teen account is linked to your Grab for Family account, the teen can book rides on their own or be booked by parents. It is protected with a Ride PIN verification to make sure it is the correct car, and AudioProtect uses GenAI to detect conversations in real time. This feature is set to launch across markets in May.
On the other hand, users can make an Advance Booking for airport pickup. Grab said you can make the booking before you even leave your home, due to the system tracking your flight in real-time and adjusting driver schedules dynamically based on actual arrival times. It is available now at various markets (Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Phuket and Singapore), including Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1. More launches across major cities in the coming months.
Finally, Grab also launched a new Travel Pass that serves as an online guide on planning your route, such as how to go to the airport, where to eat, the best way to get around and others. It is available across all Southeast Asia countries today as an in-app purchase before you leave your home country and also includes various vouchers for airport rides, general transport, food delivery, and dining out.
