It seems the bug that causes green tint to appear on smartphone displays has reappeared. iPhone 11 users ran into the issue back in June and now owners of new Samsung devices have encountered the problem. So far, the problem was found by users with the Galaxy Tab S7, Tab S7+, and Note 20 Ultra.

According to Sammobile, the issue happens when the brightness of the displays for the devices drops below a certain value. It's also said that this could have happened because the users set the refresh rate to 120Hz, which all three devices support. Considering that the Galaxy Tab S7 still has the same problem, even though it's not using a Super AMOLED display, it may not be the display that's at fault.

Alternatively, the problem could be due to a firmware issue related to the chipset. So far, all reported cases were devices featuring the Snapdragon 865+ chipset. If that's the case, a software update could solve the problem. Fortunately, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra users in Malaysia will probably not encounter, as the local model uses the Exynos 990 chipset instead.
