The new flagship could be Nokia 9 PureView successor

With how saturated the smartphone market, it's hard to stand out these days. HMD Global has tried hard to popularise its Nokia smartphones, though success has been elusive so far. However, the company could be working on a new flagship that's coming this year.

According to GSMArena, Zhang Yucheng (Product Manager, HMD China) has hinted at a new Nokia 5G device. The company is allegedly aiming to launch it before 11 November, which is when the Singles' Day sale is now held annually. Mind you, this doesn't necessarily mean it's a flagship device. So why do some people think it's going to be one?

If you recall, it was suggested that HMD Global was working on the Nokia 9.3 PureView last year. This was supposed to be the flagship successor of the Nokia 9 PureView, which came with a Penta-camera setup. And back in April, there was a new rumour that a new phone with the same type of camera setup is in the works. This phone is also expected to have a 6.5-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a large 6000mAh battery.

Of course, for all we know this 5G device could be a mid-range device, so do take our assumptions with a grain of salt. Having said that, what do Nokia devices need to really stand out? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates on this.
