Previously, we reported on HONOR Malaysia teasing the potential release of the HONOR 90 in our country soon, most probably in line with the device’s global release on 6 July. Well, an entry-level of the HONOR 90 series may follow suit too, as the 90 Lite 5G was recently spotted getting IMDA certification.

As shared by GizmoChina which first spotted the listing, the 90 Lite 5Ge has the model number CRT-NX1 and is expected to be released in Singapore. Hence, it is very likely that the IMDA certification alludes to the device’s launch in the region, including Malaysia.

The 90 Lite 5G itself was previously announced by HONOR on its official European website, revealing its specs and features. The price was also recently unveiled, starting from EUR299 or ~RM1514.

As a refresher, the 90 Lite 5G is likely to be a rebranded China-only X50i powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In terms of display, it’s a 6.7-inch 90Hz LTPS LCD screen with a resolution of FHD+ and a 19:9:9 aspect ratio.

There’s a punch hole cutout in the top centre of the panel which houses a 16MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, at the rear, the device has a 108MP main + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro triple-camera setup.

Its battery is a bit smaller than most mid-rangers though with only a 4500mAh cell that supports 22.5W fast charging via the USB-C port. Other notable specs include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Android 13 OS via MagicOS 7.1 and colour options of Midnight Black, Titanium Silver and Cyan Lake.

It is unknown whether the 90 Lite 5G would retain the same specs as the European version or if it’s coming to Malaysia at all. Well, do stay tuned to TechNave for the latest development on this and for more trending tech news.
