The HUAWEI Mate 40 series had arrived last year with the standard Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and a Porsche Edition Mate 40 Pro RS. After that, the Mate 40E is said to be in the works as it was spotted on Wireless Charging Alliance. As the whole Mate 40 lineup uses the Kirin 9000 chipset, the upcoming Mate 40E is also expected to come with the same chipset. However, it is reported that other devices like the P50 series, Mate X2, and MatePad Pro 2 will also use the Kirin 9000.
The claim was made by a reputable tipster named Digital Chat Station on Weibo after saying that the Mate 40E will use a 64MP camera sensor. It is said that HUAWEI's Kirin 9000 stock is less than 9 million, but the Chinese tech giant has reserved for the HUAWEI P50 and Mate 50 series. It is unsure if HUAWEI were to equip this many smartphones with the Kirin 9000 chipset, and we could only wait for the official announcement to find out more about it.
The HUAWEI P50 is rumoured to be launched with tech specs like a 120Hz screen, 66W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging. For the camera, it is said that the main imaging system will be similar to that of the Mate 40 series and Leica film camera will still be used. Reports have also claimed that the device will not be running HarmonyOS 2.0 and continue with the EMUI 11 system. As for the Mate X2, it was rumoured that the folding device could possibly be launched this February.
