HUAWEI has brought a new model to the MateBook series today by presenting the all-new MateBook 16. Besides featuring AMD processors, the laptop also carries some other powerful tech specs and features for your daily workloads. Let's continue to read on to find out what the MateBook 16 has to offer!
The HUAWEI MateBook 16 features the latest H-series APUs from AMD. There will be two variants with one having the Ryzen 5 5600H and another one with a Ryzen 7 5800H. Both are 7nm parts based on the Zen 3 architecture with a TDP of 45W. Besides that, the laptop also sports a 16-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,520 x 1,680 px (189 ppi). Despite the big display, the company still managed to fit everything under 2kg.
Under the hood, the dual-fan solution keeps the APUs running cool even in the high TDP mode. The structure of the cooling system consists of two 2 mm heat pipes that lead to heat sinks with an innovative “shark fin” design, which are blown by two 75 mm fans. It is worth mentioning that there are no options for an external GPU. However, the Vega GPU is still enough for handling most workloads but not heavy gaming.
The MateBook 16 features an 84 WHr battery that can play 1080p+ video for 12 and a half hours straight. It also comes with a 135W charger that supports Huawei’s SuperCharge tech. Furthermore, for port selection, it brings two USB-C ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, a full-size HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The HUAWEI MateBook 16 is now available for pre-order in China with the base variant (Ryzen 5 5600H) priced at 6,300 Yuan (~RM4,055) and the Ryzen 7 5800H variant priced at 6,800 Yuan (~RM4,377). It will also be available in two colours - Grey and Silver.
