After departing from HUAWEI, HONOR continues to upgrade its existing smartphone series with the nova 8 and V40 scheduled to be launched later this year. Earlier, it was reported that the V40 Pro Plus will be featuring HUAWEI Kirin 9000 chipset while the lower variant V40 Pro features MediaTek's Dimentsity 1000+. Today, a new leak has arrived saying that the series will not be coming with the Kirin 9000

According to reputable tipster Digital Chat Station, the HONOR V40 Pro Plus will not be equipped with HUAWEI's Kirin 9000. However, the tipster didn't reveal which chipset that the device will go for instead. The guess is that it will either use the same Dimensity 1000+ or feature an even more powerful chipset.

Today, the news has also come saying that MediaTek is working on a 6nm chipset MT6893 that is on par with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865. Therefore, there is a chance for the HONOR V40 Pro Plus to arrive with this unannounced chipset.

The HONOR V40 series is expected to come with features like 66W fast charging, 40W wireless charging, stereo speakers, 5G, and glass build. For photography, although it's still unknown whether the devices will have a triple or quad-camera setup, a rumour suggests that they may borrow the Sony IMX700 RYYB from the Honor 30 Pro+.
