A few weeks ago, HUAWEI had announced that the HarmonyOS will soon be available as an update for current smartphones starting from April. The company also mentioned that the Mate X2 will be the first device to get the update via OTA. If you are wondering what other devices will be getting the update afterward, the answer might have arrived with a leak pointing to all devices with Kirin 710 and above.
According to a tipster from Weibo, HUAWEI will be bringing the update to devices that feature processors like Kirin 810, Kirin 820, Kirin 820E, Kirin 980, Kirin 990, Kirin 985, Kirin 9000, and more. However, we should take this list with a pinch of salt as HUAWEI hasn't confirmed anything yet. It is also likely that the HarmonyOS will only be available for those smartphones that are launched more recently.

If you still don't know what's the deal with this HarmonyOS, it is actually an in-house operating system developed by HUAWEI to overcome the lost access to Google Mobile Services due to the trade ban. For now, the operating system is still having its beta testing but we believe the public release is imminent.
