Here’s a first look at the Galaxy SmartTag 2, Samsung’s Apple AirTag competitor

Samsung may be releasing Galaxy SmartTag 2 soon after unveiling the first version in 2021. Aptly named the Galaxy SmartTag 2, the South Korean tech giant’s answer to Apple AirTag was spotted in a retail listing recently, showing its design, features and even the price.

Perhaps accidentally published by UK online retail chain MobileFun on its site as the product hasn’t even launched yet, the listing is still live as of the time of writing, with the Galaxy SmartTag 2 due to be in stock in 2 months. That may mean that Samsung will be launching them sometime in October.

Based on the retail listing, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 will have a built-in loop and black or white colour options. Furthermore, there seems to only be a variant with both Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB), rather than having a more expensive variant with UWB like the first Galaxy SmartTag.

The listing further revealed that the tracking device is sold in a pack of 2s at a discounted price of GBP69.99 or ~RM408. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet.
