Back in 2019, Sony launched the WF-1000XM3 and the pair has since been one of the top choices for people who are interested in getting themselves true wireless earbuds. In 2021, the Japanese company is expected to be back with the successor WF-1000XM4 in June 2021. Before that happens, let's take a look at these high-definition pictures of the upcoming true wireless earbuds.

The new pictures surfaced are aligned with the ones which we have seen earlier through leaks. It looks like the earbuds will get a huge makeover by eliminating the pill-shaped design and replaced with a conventional circular shape. The Sony logo has also been moved to the side and the earbuds are expected to arrive in two colours - Black and Silver.

For now, it is unsure if the WF-1000XM4 will be water and sweat resistant or support Sony’s higher-res LDAC codec, as these features are the ones that were missing from the predecessor. However, a leak that appeared earlier showing the packaging box with a “Hi-Res Audio” logo might have hinted at the new earbuds could have LDAC support. The WF-1000XM4 is also suggested to have 6 hours of playback on a single charge, plus 18 hours from the case.
