If you’ve bought a Hi-Res audio system already and wondered how you can bring out the best of it. Sony is here to give you some helpful tips to have a wonderful entertainment experience at home. Whether it’s your TV, subwoofer or sound bar, here are 4 ways to maximize the sound quality without having to spend an extra money.

1. Positioning

The first rule of having such equipment is the position of the audio speaker and yourself. One should not sit too far or too close to the TV screen, there’s an ideal set-up distance for that and it can be calculated as

– Diagonal length of HDTV x 2 = Distance from TV (in feet) – to get the best of surround sound. After that, you can determine your seating location couch and it should be placed at least one foot away from the rear wall so that the bass will sound just nice. The sound bar should be placed below the TV, and turn the speakers 22-30 degrees towards the left and right from where you sit.

2. The size of your room

The size of your room plays a role and it can reflect the echoes, if it does that try adding sound absorption materials such as curtains, books, photo frames and rugs. But remember, don’t over do it as balance is important for the sound.

3. Sound bars > TV speakers

If you know any audiophiles, you would know that a full surround sound system is not cheap and takes up a lot of space. If you don’t want any of that, then a sound bar is just right for you. The sound bar not only enhances the audio from the movies and videos you’re watching, but it also produces great music quality if you’re having a house party.

4. Subwoofer

The purpose of a subwoofer is to boost the sound with an extra “oomph” to sound effects and audio tunes. Like the positioning rule, you will have to test which room area suits best for the subwoofer as it affects the sound quality of the bass.

We hope this is helpful for you to re-evaluate how you set up your living room, at the meantime you can also visit Sony’s latest audio system to check it out more should you be interested.
