Slim smartphones are a trend again. Last week, the incredibly slim Honor Magic V5 was unveiled in China for 8999 yuan (~RM5200). It's undoubtedly stylish, so many are excited to see it in Malaysia. Fortunately, the wait won't be long as a local launch date has been confirmed.
Malaysia release confirmed
Earlier today, it was announced that the Honor Magic V5 will launch here on 15 July 2025. The phone is the slimmest foldable smartphone to date, measuring 8.8mm thick when folded and a mere 4.1mm when unfolded. That's even slimmer than last year's Honor Magic V3 and comparable to a 50-cent coin.

Slim, but with good specs
However, its slim body doesn't mean a compromise in battery capacity or build quality. The Honor Magic V5 houses a 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery offering solid battery life. It also has the 66W wired SuperCharge feature, so you can fully recharge the phone in 40 minutes. If you dislike wires, the Honor Magic V5 also supports 50W wireless charging. Additionally, the phone has a Power Enhanced Chip Honor E2 for improved energy-saving.
The Honor Magic V4 also packs a powerful 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera, which delivers imaging zoom of up to 100x (digital zoom). Like many phones in 2025, the phone features handy AI imaging tools. This includes AI Super Zoom, AI Enhanced Portrait, AI Cutout, AI Eraser, and more.

Some people have avoided book-style foldable phones because they felt thick when folded. If that's you, the Honor Magic V5 could be a solid option to pick up this July. Let us know if you're interested in getting one, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates.
