Huawei recently announced the Huawei Honor 6 smartphone, confirming rumours that they'd skip numbers 4 and 5 in their Huawei Honor series of smartphones. Previously codenamed the Huawei Mulan and otherwise known as the Huawei Glory 6 the smartphone offers a number of notable features including a new octa-core Kirin 920 processor from Huawei. This new octa-core chipset has scored better on AnTuTu benchmarks than the Snapdragon 805 so there is a good reason to be excited about this. Other notable tech specs and features include a 5-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution, 3GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB storage and microSD support.

It measures in at 139.8 x 68.8 x 6.5mm with some really thin bezels and what appears to be the same multi-layer backside as the Huawei Ascend P7. The new Kirin 920 chipset also offers support for LTE Cat. 6 for up to 300Mbps 4G LTE. It will also come with Android 4.4.2 along with their Emotion UI 2.3. According to Huawei, their Honor 6 is also very power-efficient, lasting longer than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Apple iPhone 5s, while retaining a cool but tough aluminum alloy chassis.

Completing the tech specs is a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash while the 5MP front camera features a wide-angle lens and f/2.4 aperture. It is currently priced online at $359 (RM1159) but there is still no news yet on any Malaysia release dates or pricing. We expect it to come via Huawei Malaysia in the next few months so stay tuned for more developments.
