As we near the global launch of the Huawei P30 series on 26 March 2019, Huawei Malaysia have confirmed that Malaysians will get the previously revealed Huawei Backup dual charger + 1TB external hard disk drive device worth ~RM425. While they haven't confirmed if we'll also be getting the Huawei Watch GT Active Edition and JBL Clip 2 Bluetooth speaker, they have hinted that Malaysians could also get the P30 series the same date as Singaporeans, which is 6 April 2019.
For a refresher, the Huawei Backup is a dual charger that can pass through 5V2A, 9V2A Huawei fast charge or 5V4.5A Huawei super fast charge while also providing a built-in 1TB hard disk drive. Making itself doubly useful is the fact that you can backup the data in your Huawei P30 either automatically or manually, something we've yet to see being sold very much here in Malaysia.
The Huawei P30 series is expected to be powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB of internal storage, have a 40MP + 20MP + 8MP + ToF sensor in the rear and a 32MP front-facing selfie camera. It may also have a 6.47-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with a 4200mAh non-removable battery.
Looking to avoid making long lines for all the supporting Malaysian consumers, Huawei Malaysia will be increasing the number of sale locations to ensure everyone gets their Huawei P30 series smartphone and freebies like the Huawei Backup. We assume this also means Huawei Malaysia will be bringing in more stock, but we'll know more details like that, pricing, available colours and local sales roadshows soon.
