Huawei Mate X2 allegedly spotted, features identical design to Mate Xs

Rumours can be so unreliable but you can't help thinking that some of them may be true. That's the case for us when the latest one on the Huawei Mate X2 popped up earlier today. Reports now claim that a device spotted in China is not an existing foldable, but is in fact the unreleased Mate X2.

According to Sparrownews, a Chinese blogger has revealed what the Huawei Mate X2 looks like. From what can be seen, the design is the same as that of the Mate X and Mate Xs. This would imply that Huawei hasn't changed anything at all. But that's from the front, a patent for the device was recently found and showed that the back of the device would look very different from its predecessor.

Strangely enough, the patent suggests that the device will fold inwards and have a secondary display on the outside. That makes it similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Moto Razr 5G. However, the source mentions it's an outward folding device like. So, either the patent was fake or it's for another device. It's also possible that the device in the picture is the Mate Xs.

It's close to the time when it won't be surprising to see leaks on the Mate 40 series and Mate X2 foldable. But as you can see, this rumour is pretty sketchy, so do take it with a fistful of salt. Having said that, which do you think is better: foldable that folds inwards or outwards? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news.
