As previously reported, Huawei launched its next flagship smartphone on 4 September 2025. The company's newest Mate XTs offers small upgrades over the Mate XT, but no changes in design. What can we expect from this new model? Below is an overview.
Tech specs and features
Like last year's Mate XT, the Mate XTs has the same 10.2-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 3K resolution. When fully unfolded, it can run up to three apps side by side. Fold it once for a 7.9-inch screen with dual-screen mode, and another fold results in a 6.4-inch screen, which is the size of a regular phone.
Note that the Mate XTs is thicker than a regular smartphone at 12.8mm (folded). It's also heavier at 298g. For reference, last year's Mate 70 Pro has a thickness of 8.2mm and weighs 221g. These are expected drawbacks for a tri-fold device, but perhaps Huawei can make thinner ones next year. After all, some brands have already made thinner foldable phones.
Moving on, the Mate XTs features a Kirin 9020 chipset, which promises up to 36% faster performance than the previous model's Kirin 9010. The new model also has 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. For cameras, the Mate XTs has upgraded the ultra-wide camera from 12MP to 40MP. It also has a 50MP main camera and a 12MP periscope camera, the same as its predecessor.
Prices and availability
The Huawei Mate XTs is currently up for pre-orders in China. Although the Malaysian launch date hasn't been confirmed, the last model was launched here, so we can expect the same for the new model. For prices, refer to the list below.
