As rumoured, Huawei recently came out with their first smartwatch called the Huawei TalkBand B1. Featuring a bended 1.4-inch OLED display, the TalkBand B1 looks more like a smartband than a smartwatch with a silicon band that should fit most wrists. While the TalkBand B1 functions in the same way as other bluetooth companion devices, one of it's main features includes the ability to take out the OLED display and use it as a Bluetooth earpiece.
The band has another surprise too in that the end of one of the straps can be popped off to reveal a USB connector, so you can plug in the TalkBand B1 and charge it on any USB port without having to worry about any loose cable. Controls are mostly through the buttons on the band while tech specs include a 90 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and 26g weight (the earpiece weighs just 9.4g).
In terms of features, the TalkBand B1 can track fitness like steps, calories burned and distance, pairs up through NFC, has a six day battery life and up to 7 hour talk time. It should be compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Pricing is expected to be €99 (RM448) while Malaysia release dates have yet to be announced. The Huawei TalkBand B1 will be available in China in March 2014 first with an international launch to follow afterwards.
