Besides the Watch Fit 4 series, Huawei Malaysia also launched the new Watch 5. It comes in a few colour variants in two sizes, 46mm and 42mm, and the starting price is from RM1,799. The Watch 5 is now available for pre-order, and here's what you should know about it.
Drawing inspiration from the Kármán Line, the WATCH 5 features a unified design with premium materials. The 42mm version is crafted from 904L stainless steel, while the 46mm model uses a lighter, aerospace-grade silver alloy. Strap materials range from titanium and fluoroelastomer to a newly developed composite option that mimics leather’s look while remaining waterproof and odour-resistant.
A key feature of the Watch 5 is Huawei’s new X-TAP multi-sensing technology, which integrates ECG, PPG, and tactile sensors to improve health data accuracy. For the first time, the watch enables fingertip-based readings that power a Health Glance feature, delivering a 60-second snapshot of 10 health metrics. This includes heart rate variability (HRV), emotional state, and blood oxygen levels (SpO?).
The Watch 5 also introduces gesture-based controls, such as Double Slide and Double Tap, allowing users to manage calls, music playback, and even smartphone camera functions without touching the screen. Connectivity is enhanced via eSIM support, enabling the watch to operate independently of a smartphone.
According to Huawei, the device includes a dual-mode battery system, offering up to 4.5 days of usage on the 46mm model and 3 days on the 42mm in Standard Mode.
