While Proton unveiled its latest S70 series, Huawei also did the same in China with the Luxeed Zhijie S7 series as the first electric sedan. Luxeed is a new brand that was jointly built with Chery and posed as a challenger to the Tesla Model S with a starting price of 249,800 Yuan (~RM163,480). In Mandarin, Zhijie means "the world".

Diving into the features, the S7 adopts a new OneBox styling design to improve cabin space utilisation. Built with an ultra-low wind resistance of 0.203Cd, the headlight cluster is equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lighting system, and the illumination range is increased to 50m. The door handles are concealed and the top is equipped with a 2.6m large panoramic canopy made of 100% double-layer silver-plated heat-insulating glass, with an ultraviolet blocking rate of up to 99.9% and a thermal insulation rate of 98.3%.

In the driver's area, there is a 12.3-inch LCD screen an olive-shaped sports steering wheel, and a 3D car control desktop with HarmonyOS 4 with HUAWEI MagLink support. In addition, it also offers a comfortable sports driver, exclusive queen space, and intelligent rear space, and is available in three interior colours: White Sand Apricot, Moon Shadow Gray and Feather Red. There are even zero-gravity seats, small hidden refrigerators, dual 50W wireless super-fast charging, three 3W super-fast charging, and heating/ventilation for the front and rear seats.

Huawei's EV is also the first to be equipped with architectural acoustic speakers. Using a seven-unit acoustic design, it supports a 17.7 surround sound field, with a 1W independent power amplifier. It's also the industry's first spatial sound cockpit, which supports microphone-free karaoke in case you ever feel like singing.

As you can tell, the Huawei car has a lot of intelligent features. It has four core technologies - full-dimensional perception, 3D control, and intelligent collaboration, such as HUAWEI ADS, Intelligent Vehicle Status Aware IVSE, Dynamic Adaptive Torque Control HUAWEI DATS, and Intelligent Body Collaborative Control HUAWEI xMotion. This allows the car to sense the road surface and vehicle status and intelligently adjust the torque.

In terms of specifications, the car is powered by Huawei's 800V high-voltage platform, with a CLTC comprehensive range of 855 km. With just five minutes of charging, the vehicle can travel up to 215 km, whereas a 15-minute charge can go up to 430 km of distance. Utilising a front motor power of 150kW and a rear motor power of 215kW, the acceleration time can go from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.3 seconds.
