Huawei and Samsung tied for top smartphone sales in Q2 2020

With our focus on mobile devices, it only makes sense that we'd be interested in how brands are performing. For the smartphone market, a recent report has plenty of info for us to chew over. It included a lot of statistics on the smartphone market, including what were the devices with the highest sales and which brands dominated in the second quarter of 2020.

Based on a report by ComprarAcciones.com, a total of 294.7 million smartphones were sold in Q2 2020. The two brands at the top were Huawei and Samsung, both with about 20% of market share and selling 54.1 million and 54.7 million units respectively. In third place was Apple at about 13.5% market share, or a total of 38.5 million units sold. This is followed by Xiaomi at about 30 million units (~10.2%) and OPPO at about 25.3 million units (8.6%).

There's also a report about the highest smartphone sales for H1 2020. According to Omdia, Apple's iPhone 11 sold a whopping of 37.7 million units for an overwhelming lead over other phones. Coming in a distant second is the Samsung Galaxy A51, which had over 6 million units shipped in Q1 2020 alone and a total of 11.4 million units for H1 2020.
