Instagram has been working on a lot of features in the last few months. Recently, the company even discussed its focus in four areas. These include videos and creators, which are both areas that received some related updates yesterday.

Yesterday, Instagram announced on Twitter that Reels would be expanded. From now on, you can record clips of up to 60 seconds on Instagram Reels. For your information, the feature initially started with 15-second videos. It soon expanded to 30-second videos and now 60-second videos. TikTok also has 60-second videos but is working to add 3-minute videos to its platform.

Besides the update to Reels, Instagram has updated the accounts of all users under 16-years-old have defaulted to private accounts. This allows young people to control who gets to see or respond to their content, as well as block creepy people from finding them via Explore. Moreover, advertisers now have more restrictions when it comes to targeting ads on kids under 18-years-old.

We're not too sure about the new security measures, but the Reels update is great for people who want to upload longer videos. Besides the above, what other features should Instagram add or change? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
