Is that the ASUS ROG Phone 2 with a monstrous 5800 mAh battery + 30W fast charge!?

The ASUS ROG Phone 2 has appeared on China’s TENAA sporting a massive 5800 mAh battery (that's tablet territory already!) with 30W fast charging (the previous ROG Phone has a 4000 mAh battery). Other tech specs listed include a 6.59-inch AMOLED display which is rumoured to be able to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz and 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78 mm measurements which does mean a significantly thicker ASUS ROG or Republic of Gamers Phone.

The listing doesn’t confirm other features but the ROG Phone 2 is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The TENAA images reveal no rear fingerprint sensor, so we assume that the ROG Phone 2 will have an in-display fingerprint sensor but the dual front speakers are still there. There’s also no vents but this could mean that ASUS have incorporated an internal cooling chamber that works even better.

We hope that it also retains the signature Air Triggers but no Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet. The previous ROG Phone initially went for RM3499 (but it’s much more affordable now from RM2499) so we expect the ROG Phone 2 to be at least below RM4000 as well. The ROG Phone 2 is expected to be launched on 23 July 2019 so we shouldn't have to wait that long.

What do you TechNavers think? What other features will the ROG Phone 2 have and how much will it cost? Due to the extra thickness, we expect it to only work with a few of the original ROG Phone accessories but do let us know in our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com.
