Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa today took to Twitter to tease the upcoming tablets that will be distributed to eligible students under the the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme. Furthermore, Annuar also said that the application for the programme is expected to open this 15 April.

We have previously reported regarding the PerantiSiswa programme, which is an initiative specifically crafted for tertiary-level education students from the B40 group. It offers free mobile devices and internet access for the students to use for their studies.

However, still not much is known about the devices that will be distributed under the programme. While the K-KOMM minister did share several shots of the tablet, there are no brand name or specs that can be spotted from the photos.

On closer inspection, the only information we can gather from the photos are that the tablet will come with a keyboard case. The device may also come with a stylus, which can be seen magnetically attached at the tablet’s right side.

Annuar has previously revealed that the government has allocated RM450 million for the programme and that the mobile devices would be of high quality. Moreover, K-KOMM has put a 10.1-inch screen and 4GB of RAM as the minimum requirements for the device.
