As Meizu gears of up for the launch its Meizu 17 series smartphones on 8 May 2020, the leaks and rumours have been pouring out on Chinese social media platforms. The latest leak comes from a reliable source, who detailed a few key difference between the Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro. As it turns out, there are just enough differences to separate the two devices.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Meizu 17 Pro has three key points of contrast. First, it's going to have better fast-charging (40W vs 30W) and will also support wireless fast-charging. Next, it'll be using LPDDR5 RAM, which is faster than the more commonly used LPDDR4X. Lastly, it's expected to have a ceramic body. The leakster also suggested that the Pro variant could have a price tag of 4500 yuan (~RM2743).

Besides the above, the two devices will be virtually identical in terms of hardware specifications. Both will come with a Snapdragon 865 chipset, 5G connectivity, a 6.5-inch OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and a large 4500mAh battery. They will also have UFS 3.1 storage support, in-display fingerprint sensor, a quad-camera setup at the back, and a punch-hole front camera.

Honestly, there's enough to the Meizu 17 Pro to put it on par with a lot of its other Chinese competitors. But with how saturated the Malaysian market is, it's hard to see the brand making a comeback here. Having said that, would you be interested in getting this phone if it's available in Malaysia?
