Lenovo may have discontinued its Legion gaming phone series. But it doesn't look like it has given up on Legion-branded gaming products. The company unveiled a Legion Y900 gaming tablet earlier this year and is set to launch a new gaming laptop.

In an official announcement, Lenovo confirmed the Legion R9000X gaming laptop is coming on 29 July 2023. The company described the laptop as a "good-looking e-sports" laptop, and it will feature the AMD Ryzen 7 7840H CPU. It's a more powerful counterpart to the Ryzen 7 7840U APU in more recent handheld gaming PCs.

Besides the CPU, sources suggest this slim laptop would house an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM (5600MHz). There will also be two options for the display: A 2K resolution display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 500nits of brightness or a 3.2K resolution display with a 165% refresh rate and 430nits brightness. As for the battery, the Legion R9000X is expected to come with a sizable 99.99Wh battery.

Overall, it sounds like a pretty beefy laptop with a relatively slim design. But how well would it perform in AAA games and e-sports titles? We'll have to find out when it launches later this month. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
