Lenovo working on a new virtual reality headset named VR-3030S

It looks like Lenovo is not giving up on making virtual reality headsets. According to TechSpot, the PC manufacturer has submitted a new filing to the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a new VR headset named VR-3030S.

Now mind you, the listing doesn't mention any tech specs of the new headset. There's a vague sketch of a headset in the filing page, but we doubt that's how it'll actually look. However, the title for the listing does state that it's a standalone VR headset, which means it can be used directly without needing to connect it to a computer.

Lenovo hasn't found any real success when it comes to VR headsets in the last few years. While the company released the Mirage Solo that comes with Google's Daydream OS and the Explorer Windows Mixed Reality headset, neither one was widely used. This latest attempt may yet be another one using a different platform's OS. For example, given how popular Valve's Index VR headset is, Lenovo could very well be eyeing a piece of the SteamVR pie.

Of course, there's too little info to go on so what we have now is merely speculation. We do hope this is the direction Lenovo goes with, as it seems the most promising. But what do you think? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
