Previously, we reported on Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil’s announcement that there will no longer be any extra charges for 5G access. Now, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has reiterated the statement, saying that it supports the initiative.

In a press release, MCMC said that it fully supports the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring network service providers don’t charge extra fees for 5G access. The commission further said that Fahmi’s announcement was in line with the continuous efforts by the government to ensure that all Malaysians have fair access to technology.

Accordingly, MCMC stressed that it will ensure all network service providers adhere to their commitments in not charging extra for 5G network access. The commission thus tells the public to lodge a report via the MCMC user portal or call 1-800-188-030 should they have any complaints regarding 5G service access fees.
