Now that we're all stuck at home for the next three weeks or so due to the MCO extension, you probably wished you had a high refresh rate gaming monitor to better enjoy your games. As if to tease those of us who have to hunker down, MSI released three new IPS gaming monitors that won't kill your bank account.

First up is the Optix MAG251RX, a 24.5-inch IPS monitor with 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, DisplayHDR 400 support, and also G-Sync support for USD360 (~RM1575). Next up is the 24-inch Optix G241, which is a monitor with 144Hz refresh rate, 4ms response time, and AMD FreeSync support for USD240 (~RM1050). Finally, there's the Optix G271 that is a larger 27-inch version and is priced at USD190 (~RM831). All three monitors run on 1920x1080 resolution.

The reason why IPS panels are better is that they offer better contrast ratios, viewing angles, and higher colour gamut. However, IPS gaming monitors with specs like the above would usually command a very high price. Comparatively, these are a lot more affordable for the average PC enthusiast.

If you're looking for a 1080p gaming monitor with great performance and the visual superiority of IPS panels, these would be something worth looking into.
