So remember that earlier this year, Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Redzuan Md Yusof said that Malaysia will be showcasing a "flying car" this year? Well, here's a new update - the man himself is expecting to see the first demonstration in October 2019, as he said that the drone prototype should be completed by then.

Although there is no official name for it yet for the sake of surprise, he commented that he has seen the prototype and closely monitoring the progress. The airframe for it is almost done and they are just slapping on the body kit to complete the look for the two-seater vehicle. And to add on to that, he also mentioned that the government is in the midst of drafting regulations for the vehicle.

"We must be ready in terms of regulations, because when they ask for permission to fly, do we allow that? We have to be prepared for that. If we are not ready (by September), we have to come up with some sort of allowance on certain period and space for them to fly," he said.

On top of that, the government is also discussing with various private parties on facilitating the infrastructure for the vehicle. It's worth noting that they aren't planning to spend the public's money on that, so that's why they are prioritising the rules and regulations first.
