MediaTek announces its latest 4nm SoC, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra

MediaTek has announced its latest mobile processor in China, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra. Built on TSMC’s 4nm process, the chipset is a slightly more powerful version of the Dimensity 7200.

Taking to Weibo, the company said that the new chip is an octa-core processor comprising two ARM Cortex A715 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and six Cortex A510 cores at 2GHz. GPU-wise, the SoC features the Mali-G610 and sports HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine for variable rendering, intelligent control and more.

Besides that, the chip supports LPDDRX and LPDDR5 RAM, up to 200MP cameras, up to 4K30fps video recording and 14-bit HDR image processing. Furthermore, it can also power Full HD+ displays at a 144Hz refresh rate and support dual 5G standby, VONR as well as carrier aggregation. 

The 5th MediaTek APU 650 is also on board the Dimensity 7200 Ultra for AI processing. While MediaTek didn’t mention any devices that would feature the new SoC, Redmi has revealed that its upcoming Note 13 Pro+ will be powered by the chip.
