For a couple of months, we have reported that Samsung could be having some production issues with its Exynos chips. Rumours have it that the Galaxy S25 series might proceed with MediaTek chips but that may change.
The new report came from @Jukanlosreve on his Twitter X post, saying that Samsung and MediaTek have finally negotiated which Galaxy device will use the Dimensity chipset. Initially, it was reported that the Galaxy S25 could use the chip by MediaTek but it has been shifted to the Galaxy S25 FE instead. If true, then the Galaxy S25 will exclusively use Snapdragon chips.
Currently, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip is the latest flagship unit and appeared on the vivo X200 series last night. We don't know yet if the Dimensity 9400's performance is on par with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite, but it's still a flagship-tier SoC so that shouldn't be a problem.
For your information, the Dimensity 9400 is a 3nm chipset manufactured by TSMC. It features 1x Cortex-X925 CPU core, 3x Cortex-X4 CPU cores and 4x Cortex-A720 CPU cores. Reports say the chip will offer good battery life efficiency.
There's still a long way to go for the Galaxy S25 FE device. Until then, stay tuned for the launch next year only at TechNave.com.
