Earlier, it was reported that MediaTek would beat Apple to launch the first 4nm processor. Now, it might be happening soon as the company has shared an official teaser video of the processor on YouTube today, with the title "The World's First 4nm-class Smartphone Chip".

Although the announcement date has not yet been confirmed, the event should be close, with MediaTek putting the words "coming soon" in the caption. In the video, besides mentioning that the chip will have high performance, it also hints at improvement for power efficiency. It's surprising to see MediaTek being this early to the 4nm party, but of course, the company still has to prove the capabilities of its new flagship chip on upcoming smartphones.

Other than this, the company has also finally become the largest smartphone chipmaker this year. In a recent investor conference in Taiwan, CEO Rick Tsai announced that "MediaTek is now the largest smartphone SoC maker globally. It continues to gain share across all regions of the world." The CEO added that the brand's Android smartphone market share in North America alone would also cross 25% this year.

It looks like MediaTek's future is full of hope. Are you excited about seeing the first 4nm chip? Let us know by leaving a comment and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
