If you're wondering what happened to the Microsoft Surface Book 3, it's still going to be launching this year. Sources have claimed that the 2-in-1 PC may be unveiled as early as May 2020. The device recently passed the US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification process and is expected to be made available in the US first.

According to Windows Latest, Microsoft applied for the Surface Book 3's certification last week and it's now public on the FCC website. Previously, it was rumoured that there will be two variants of the laptop and this has been confirmed with two entries for the device on the FCC website. Interestingly enough, its SAR (Specific Absorption Rating) test report shows that it contains the WiFi module C3K1957, which corresponds to the Intel WiFi 6 AX201 module.

Not much revealed, but it does confirm that the laptop uses an Intel WiFi 6 module

In our previous article, some specs of one of the variants were listed. That one is likely the larger 15-inch model that sports an Intel Core i7-1065G7 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q GPU. The second variant should be using a 10th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU instead.

There's still a lot that is unknown about this laptop, but it's likely to be launched soon now that it's certified. Since its FCC filing came not long after the ones for the Surface Go 2 and Surface Earbuds, we can probably expect all three products to launch at the same time too.
