Many events have been cancelled in recent weeks so the writing was on the wall even for E3 2020. Sure enough, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) confirmed yesterday that the annual event in Los Angeles would be cancelled. Of course, some companies have things ready for presentation and will be doing them online.

Both Microsoft and Ubisoft will be hosting digital events for their big announcements, though the exact dates have yet to be confirmed. For Microsoft, its big reveal this E3 2020 will most likely include further details of the Xbox Series X, along with first-party titles for the console. On the other hand, Ubisoft's is likely going to announce a new Assassin's Creed game, along with another for the Tom Clancy series. Bear in mind, we're just speculating here.

E3 2020 is an important time for publishers and developers. Indeed, it's hard to imagine that they would just give up the opportunity to build hype for their games, so expect more announcements of digital events or streams in the coming days. Of the many publishers and developers, we think that Square Enix, EA Games, and Bethesda will likely have something to announce.

Having said that, what do you think about E3 2020 being cancelled? Do you think this signals the starts of a shift towards online events only? Let us know what you think on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more gaming news.
