If you like the fancy new Apple headphone but find it a bit out of your budget, you might be in luck. Rumours claim that Apple is working on a variant of the AirPods Max, one that will have a much lighter body and price tag.
According to Apple RUMORs, an over-ear AirPods will be coming in the middle of 2021. This should be a variant of the AirPods Max that was launched earlier this month. Interestingly, this contradicts a previous rumour claiming that a 'Sport' variant won't be a thing. However, this time another source (albeit unreliable) claims that this variant will in fact be coming and will be using silicone material and smaller earpads.
Over-ear AirPods, $400, coming in the middle of next year. Sports silicone material, weighs about 290g, slightly smaller earpads.

The reason for doing so is to reduce cost and weight. In fact, it's suggested that the new model will only weigh 290g, which is notably lighter than the AirPods Max's 384g. On top of that, it is expected to retail for USD400 (~RM1624), making it cheaper than the AirPods Max price tag of RM2399. Considering that it has the 'Sport' moniker, it could also come in a variety of colours.
Of course, this is just speculation, so do take it with a healthy grain of salt. With that said, what do you think about this rumoured variant, is it affordable enough for you? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates on this.
