More leaks are suggesting the iPhone 14 series could remove the SIM card tray

Previously, there was a rumour about the iPhone 15 series could actually ditch the SIM card and go purely sim-less. However, there is new information that the plan could move up to the iPhone 14 thanks to a tipster online.

According to @dylandkt, he made a claim back in February 2021 first about Apple planning to remove the SIM card tray. Nine months later, he retweeted that again saying he "is in agreement with the recent rumours". What does that mean? Well, he claimed that the reports are true and furthermore, it goes hand in hand with rumours of Apple meeting with US mobile carriers in preparation for an eSIM-only solution.

Personally, going full eSIM only is an interesting feature but the fact of the matter is it's not something that everyone is doing. In Malaysia's case, only two out of five telco companies support eSIM and even the majority of Malaysian Apple iPhone users aren't utilising it.

In case you haven't noticed, Apple has been removing features on the iPhones bit by bit throughout the years. For example, the audio jack port was one of the most controversial ones. They also added a MagSafe wireless charging tool signalling the end of cable charging in the future. We won't be surprised if Android brands also start following Apple for this reason.
