With the on-going Conditional Movement Control Order taking place, Malaysians who are travelling or going back out to their offices are required to have the Gerak Malaysia app on their smartphones for passage. That said, we got a report by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) about the app which oversaw the app being downloaded 1.3 million times.

As of 4 May 2020, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Datuk Huzir Mohamed also reported that more than 600,000 Interstate Travel applications have been sent to the PDRM. This sudden figure spike is very likely due to the government requesting the public's cooperation to fill in the details as soon as possible so that the PDRM can make arrangements to facilitate their journey from 7-10 May 2020.

On top of that, Datuk Huzir Mohamed also said that the Interstate Travel application can be done manually. All you have to do is download the MCO PKP Permit from the PDRM Facebook page or fill up your request details at the nearest police station with the permission from the department head there. Moreover, iOS users who are planning to travel are required to register for the application too but it will only start from 7 May onwards.
