Not long ago, we saw the report claiming that the giant video streaming service, Netflix, is making its way to the gaming industry. Today, we have received an update on the progress, as it appears that the company has bought over its first game studio named Night School.

Night School is the developer behind the acclaimed story-based adventure game Oxenfree, which is about a group of teenagers exploring a spooky island, and that totally reminds us of Stranger Things. According to Sean Krankel, founder of Night School, the studio "will be primarily focused on games for mobile devices" at the beginning of the acquisition.

Other than just making tie-in games, it looks like the Night School will also be given the freedom to flex its creativity muscle for standalone titles. "We'll keep cooking up new game worlds" is one of the promises Krankel makes in his blog post. For now, Netflix has opened the gaming service for more countries, including Spain and Italy. It has also added new games called Teeter Up and Card Blast, which further suggest the company might present games that have nothing to do with the shows in the future.
