During Netflix's fourth-quarter 2024 financial report, it was revealed by co-CEO Greg Peters that the company is planning to do a couch co-op and party games on our TVs. Since 2023, Netflix has offered a "subset" of subscribers to try playing games that are streamed over the cloud and will continue to invest in it.

Netflix has been investing in its mobile games for a while now. As for having Netflix games played on our TVs, there is still no word on when it will be official globally. In the report, Peters also didn't mention when the co-op and party games will launch, but he said “We think of this as a successor to family board game night or an evolution of what the game show on TV used to be.”

As mentioned, Netflix Games on TV has not yet been released worldwide, as only users in the UK and Canada can access it in beta mode. Netflix will also focus on “more narrative games based on Netflix IP”, as it has been consistent fan favourites. Peters said the company has "a lot in the library to work with there.”

One of the biggest Netflix Games released on mobile was Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and Hades last year. However, not many Netflix users have even tried its game library. According to IGN, only 1% of Netflix subscribers play games on the platform.
