New Huawei Watch 2 returns as a standalone wearable without the need of a smartphone

Today, not only Huawei has finally unveiled the long awaited P10 and P10 Plus in Barcelona but a brand new Huawei Watch 2 as well. The new Huawei Watch 2 is designed for the "free spirit" (you know, sports stuff) and also has new colours to suit different people's style, as well as being able to connect without the phone's assistance.

Like all smartwatches, it has all the health apps to keep track of your fitness on heart rate, steps taken, speed, calories count and many others. It's IP68 water and dust grade makes it ideal for swimming and outdoor activities, and has a new app system called VO2Max as a virtual training coach.

But perhaps what's more impressive is the fact that it can get connected even without a phone via eSIM card. With the eSIM card (NANO SIM), the wearbale becomes a standalone communcation device that doesn't need a smartphone around to work. 
 
Other features on the new watch include having the capacity of 4G memory (which can insert over 200 songs), Mobile Payment, 7-hours-long battery life, and has some standalone apps such as Facebook Messenger, Google Hangout, Evernote, Gmail, Google Maps, Uber, and many more.

The Huawei Watch 2 Classic
 
The Huawei Watch 2 will cost 379 euro for the 4G variant, while the the Bluetooth variant is 329 euro. There's also the Huawei Watch 2 Classic version, which has no price tag yet, same goes to the Porsche Design Huawei Smartwatch.
