Samsung are at it again, teasing new images of things that look remarkably similar in shape and size to half of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide. With the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked just around the corner it seemingly confirms the rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will indeed have a wider passport-sized form factor. No other tech specs, exact Malaysia release dates or pricing details were revealed though.
What do we know so far?
If it does turn out to be true and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a wider variant, most of the rumours seem to indicate that it will come with 50MP dual rear cameras, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 12GB to 16GB of RAM. Other unconfirmed rumours say that it might actually be thicker when unfolded at 4.9mm instead of the 4.2mm of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. Also, the taller and more similarly shaped variant is supposedly going to be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

This is how a wider Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 might look like
If the wider shape does come through, it could also mean less top and bottom black screen when watching widescreen videos on the unfolded display. However, if you hold the folded passport sized device in landscape mode we're not sure you'd have enough screen to play certain types of mobile games like fps shooters.
