Remember the news about the Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) facelift? We knew it would eventually be announced for Malaysia, and that was what happened yesterday. Sony has confirmed that Southeast Asia (SEA) will get the new model later this year.

According to the official post, the new Sony PS5 will first roll out in the US in November 2023. This is followed by the rest of the world in the ensuing months. It was also confirmed the previous Sony PS5 models will no longer be available after current stocks are sold out. Of course, the new model is better anyway, being 30% slimmer and 18% (Digital Edition) or 24% (with disc drive) lighter.

More importantly, Sony has revealed the prices for the new model in Malaysia. The new Sony PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive will retail for RM2499, while the Digital Edition will be priced at RM2069. Those who purchase the Digital Edition can also buy the Ultra HD Blu-ray drive separately for RM529. Besides that, the new verticle stand will be sold for RM149.
